Girl Talk – An update

Girl Talk – An update

If you read my last Girl Talk post you would know what I’ve been going through for the last two weeks. Three weeks if you count the stressful week before. If you didn’t then stop and read this first.
Well I have an update! My results came back and I’m clear!

Girl Talk

He confirmed that it was CIN3 and that he had to take out the abnormal cells to the size of 2cm x 1.5cm. That to me is still quite big in the cervix scheme of things. I now have to go every 3 months for a pap smear to check that the cells didn’t spread and that they don’t come back. So it will be a very paranoid week every 3 months!

I’m still tired from the anaesthetic but that’s expected for a month or so.I just try to relax in between work with my feet up and stay comfortable. I’m not a napper, unfortunately, so afternoon or daytime naps are out for me sadly. I’ve been off exercise for two weeks and yesterday I did 5 minutes of arms and I was finished! So this week I’ll just do upper body x 3 and wait to do lower body next week. I’ve learnt a lot about listening to your body and being patient. your body will tell you when it is ready, like when it’s ready for you to stop wearing pads. Two weeks on the dot! I have never been so excited to not wear a pad in my life. It just doesn’t fit in with my lifestyle!

So ladies, go for your annual pap smear so you don’t have to go through all of this!

Stay healthy,
Jane

Your bravery & willingness to share such a personal & terrifying experience is the reason that I have decided to get it done before my birthday each year. Here’s to #HealthyFannies
