Wales travels

Wales travels

I have always wanted to visit Wales, so this time I made it happen

Did you ever play elastics at school? England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, inside, outside, inside, ON! Well I wanted to be able to say that so, I had to go to Wales!

We were snowed in at Dublin airport for about 6 hours. I spent the day in the airport for 10 hours and I was pretty devastated since I was missing half a day of exploring. This meant cutting my list down dramatically. The only positive was meeting two special people waiting in that line!

Grace and her friends saved me. It was so dark when we got there I had no idea how I was going to get into town. Her lovely roommates said they would drop me off on their way! Who is that nice anymore?! We started chatting in the line and it turns out her dad lived in Durban way back when! Even more crazy, it was in Durban North, down the road from my house! Such a small world.

I decided to visit Cardiff in Wales, as it was the closest to Bath, and it seemed more my vibe!

I’m so glad I did, because when I hear Wales I instantly think of Cardiff. I was super sad that our flight was delayed by so much because it literally cut my trip in half and I couldn’t do everything I had planned! But I made the most of it and saw what I could.

Wales

I’ve learnt this on my trip

I went in search of coffee and breakfast in this cute arcade

I had to visit Cardiff Castle!

Wales

You guessed it, still snow

Wales

I can’t explain how cold this was. It was a choice to take pics or keep your hand. It was a close call

Wales

S-N-O-W

Wales

That hood though. Dramatic AF

The snow does add a magical element though

It has an actual moat

Castle on the hill…

Wales

I climbed to the top, and the view was worth it

Wales

Windy, cold and looking a bit ominous

Wales

It’s become a standard picture now…

Wales

Can you tell I was freezing?

Wales

I went for a walk in Bute park

Wales

Such a beautiful park. I imagine its incredible in Spring!

Wales

Forever searching for street art

I popped in here. Dropped my special touch screen gloves and someone took them when I walked away. I was devastated!

Wales

This was so dreamy!

Wales

I love seeing the flag down the road

Wales

So many cute arcades

All in all I loved Cardiff! I would love to go back and explore more, and take a train out to see a few towns that looked cute to me. I’m glad I can say I’ve been there and had a taste of what it is all about!

Have you been to Wales?

Next up is BATH! See you there….
